Our collaboration with Sheertex, Montreal’s hosiery brand, required specialized intimate image editing to address the unique challenges of photographing tights and hosiery products. Studio lighting often makes tights appear more transparent than they actually are, while skin tones can distort the true color of sheer products.

Tights Opacity and Color Matching

When light hits tights during photography, they often look less opaque than the actual product. We darken the fabric to match the correct opacity level, adjusting the amount based on the product’s thickness—heavier tights need more darkening than ultra-sheer varieties. This ensures customers see what they’ll actually receive.

Sheer tights pick up skin color underneath, making the product appear different from its true shade. We reduce the red and yellow tones bleeding through from the skin while keeping the tights’ actual color accurate. This color matching work ensures the hosiery appears consistent across different models and skin tones.

Studio Environment Corrections

The campaign aimed for a 1970s-80s office look. For the desk scene, we composited the actual Sheertex website content on the computer monitor to show the model browsing the brand’s site. We applied color grading to achieve the retro corporate atmosphere while maintaining realistic screen reflections.

The office kitchen shot had uneven lighting—the ceiling was too dark while some cabinet areas and the models’ faces were too bright. We masked different sections and adjusted each area separately to even out the exposure without making the lighting look artificial.

Footwear Fit Corrections

In close-up shots showing the tights with shoes, the models wore footwear that was too big for their feet. We used liquify tools to reduce the shoe size, then cut and repositioned the excess sole material closer to the heel area. This combination of reshaping and compositing made the shoes appear properly fitted while maintaining realistic proportions.
