Our 2019 collaboration with Bikini Village required extensive environmental cleanup for their Miami beach campaign. The brand needed both lifestyle model shots and flat product photography retouching, all captured on location against natural sand backgrounds. Shooting on active Miami beaches created significant post-production challenges that standard studio work doesn’t encounter.

Beach Environment Cleanup and Object Removal

Miami’s popular beaches meant constant foot traffic during the shoot, resulting in numerous beachgoers appearing in background areas of both model and product shots. We systematically removed these distracting figures while preserving the natural beach atmosphere that was essential to the campaign’s authentic feel.

Beyond people, the beach location included various urban elements that detracted from the clean, resort aesthetic Bikini Village wanted. We removed visible garbage bins, warning signs, and other municipal fixtures that appeared throughout the compositions. The challenge lay in seamlessly extending natural beach elements—sand patterns, water lines, and vegetation—to fill the spaces left by removed objects.

Product and Model Enhancement

The flat product shots required swimwear color enhancement to ensure vibrant bikini colors stood out against the neutral sand backdrop. Natural beach lighting sometimes washed out fabric saturation, particularly with lighter colored pieces. We selectively enhanced color vibrancy while maintaining the natural, sun-soaked feel that matched the lifestyle imagery.

Model shots needed careful skin retouching that accounted for the challenging outdoor lighting conditions. Beach photography creates harsh shadows and uneven exposure that required targeted correction without losing the healthy, sun-kissed appearance that defines swimwear campaigns. We balanced skin tone consistency across varying light conditions while preserving the natural glow that makes beach photography appealing.
